NANCY CORLISS TO PRESENT A POWERPOINT PROGRAM ON HER TRAVELS TO INDIA

One woman's experience of traveling alone into the Himalayan Mountains of India, sitting on the ground to hear the Dalai Lama teach, and working in a Tibetan Children's village where 2,000 refugee children live. Nancy Corliss speaks of the culture shock, the beauty, the fear, the children and how they have changed her life.

Nancy Corliss is a retired teacher who now spends 3-4 months of the year working with Tibetan children who have lost their country, their homes and in many cases their families. She will share her powerpoint presentation at the Hudson Falls Free Library, 220 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY, on

HELP YOUR LIBRARY

Have you thought of adopting a book at the library this year?
Now in its 10th year, ADOPT-A-BOOK continues to be very popular.
Just come in and look over our Wish List
Pick out a book you'd like to see added to our collection
All you have to do it pay for the book
We will put a Memorial Plate in the book in memory of your loved one
AND: YOU GET TO READ THE BOOK FIRST!
And now: ADOPT A MAGAZINE!
Last year we were forced to cancel the subscriptions to 4 long-time magazines.
This year we are cutting two more.
Perhaps, instead of a book, you'd like to
ADOPT A MAGAZINE
for the library.
Give a one-year subscription to the library and save a magazine from being canceled!
Or maybe add a new movie to the library's ever-popular collection!
2010 will be the library's 100th anniversary & it will be a very difficult one, financially. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

HUDSON FALLS FREE LIBRARY
APPROACHES A MILESTONE

The Hudson Falls Free Library had its official beginning in the summer of 1910 when a group of interested citizens met to discuss the matter. They formed the Public Library Association and elected the first five trustees: Josephine H. Allen, Emily M. Devine, Charles D. Kellogg, Erskine C. Rogers and Willoughby Sawyer.
As librarian, the trustees appointed Miss Genevieve Clark, a jurnior high school English teacher, who for $750 a year furnished a room for the library in her home at 110 Main Street and her services as librarian six afternoons and evenings a week. This library was chartered by the Board of Regents on October 27, 1910.
In 2010 the Hudson Falls Free Library will be celebrating 100 years of continuous service to the people of Kingsbury, Hudson Falls, and points beyond!

Titles listed on this site are available in your local library and bookstores or you may purchase them online now from Amazon.com.
